Catching a Salmon: Leave the drag alone. Leave it at 3, and use the heaviest line; also, use a heavy rod for improved leverage. Keep tension on the line by pulling left and right when the salmon runs out, and when he runs in, maintain holding left or right until it gets to the edge of the water. Next, pull up to alter the tension. To catch the salmon in the boat, pull toward the side or back part of the boat.
