The PS3 and the PS4- What Has Really Changed Over the Years

The PlayStation has been ruling the gaming world for quite a few years now. Sometimes people are confused over the different versions. Well the thumb rule says that the latest version is always a better one but it doesn’t mean that the previous one isn’t any good. Sometimes companies announce a new one without adding much new to the system. Sony’s latest console was first launched in 2013. It has gone through a large number of tweaks here and there. Should you really upgrade to PS4? We shall find out in the article below.

The Design

You don’t really have to carry your console around so design should be least in your priorities. How ever some of you are passionate about the design, you should know that the design isn’t exactly the same. PS4 has more angular sides which are slightly slanted and there is a light running down the middle which indicates its status. PS3 is a little on the larger side but the difference is very small so it shouldn’t be a problem at all. Apart for this if you like online gambling we have Paddy Power casino Promo code for you.

The CPU and the RAM

Sony claims that the PlasyStation4 is 10 times more powerful than the PS3. There is a difference in the architecture too. Where PlayStation3 uses a Sony-made cell architecture. The PS4 is built on a different track, it actually uses a x86 based chip which is also used by the Xbox and in the windows PCs. PS3 has a main 3.2 GHz single-core CPU, it comes with a collection if companion cores. The GPU has 550MHz and 256 DDR3 Ram. The PS4 has an 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU with an 800MHz AMD Radeon GPU & 8GB of GDDR5 RAM.

Having a totally different architecture doesn’t mean that you can’t play the PlayStation3 games on your new PS4. The PS4 processor is easily the better one which has much more power than PS3.

The controllers

The PlayStation comes with the new Dualshock4. It is slightly larger than the Dualshock3. A little tweak has been made in the grips too.  The shoulder and the trigger buttons are much easier to access, it gives you an advantage while playing the Racing or the Shooting games. It also has a headphone jack and a mic for in game chats.

the joysticks are slightly further apart in the Dualshock4. Honestly for the first time, it takes time getting used to it. Once you give it a fair amount of time then you would realise that it is a much better and superior controller.

The Library of Games

The games on the PS4 can obviously support the better resolution. Every week more games are added into the library which are focused on the next generation. Every new version is likely to have better games line up. Although the developers have promised to support the PS3 for years to come, the PS4 remains a better bet
