3 out of 5 stars Fatality   January 7, 2009
Firstly let me say I am a big DC fan and I love MK so this game was really something that caught my eye. The best thing about this game is playing as DC characters without a doubt. Playing as Batman or the Joker or Superman or whoever is really really good fun. And some of your favourite MK guys are back too and looking better than ever. Thats another high point of the game, the graphics are good. Battle damage is cool. As fights progress costumes and bodies get damaged and this looks great. The engine for the game is pretty solid too and it does feel like the hits are more real than compared to other MK titles. However there are some major drawbacks- the first is there is only one stance for each character unlike the last couple of MK games where you could have two or three. This limits the amount of different fighting moves you can master. Also some of the characters look way too similar when they fight, catwoman and wonderwoman for example look pretty much identacle. This being said there are lots of variations like deathstroke and barackas blade(s) (which is almost a second stance) or the jokers combination specials (which are just awesome). MK characters probably offer more variation in style than DC ones. I also found the game somewhat unfair in terms of what characters can do. Captain Marvel for example has so many special moves compared to say Green Lantern. (This was really disappointing for me as I love GL and he only has five specials- and considering he has a ring which should allow him to do anything this didnt feel right for me.) That being said Batman, the Joker, the Flash, Superman etc play just the way you want them to. There are new modes like close combat and aerial combat as well as test your might- these are all really fun additions to the game and allow for some real devastation. Another draw back is the fact that you cant skip the cut scenes in story mode- very annoying. Still the story mode is decent and arcade mode is as always so nothing is lost there. This game is best though when playing a friend either online or on the couch. There have been promises of downloadable content too so this game could keep on giving characters and new arenas etc. The draw backs being what they are this game is still a good beatem up with good presentation and high fun factor since DCs inclusion. Just wish they had The Martian Manhunter.

I am a big fan of the mk series, and i was expecting the same.

The gameplay is much better, controls are good. However the story mode seems to be alittle too easy. The story is good

First tried on story mode, and i finish it. THERE are no second outfits available for mk crew or dc people.

There no unlocking main charactors. so everything is there at the beginning.

which makes the game loss its appeal, as there is no need to come back to the game.

You could see everything in this game in under 3 hours

I just bought it today, and tomorrow i will trade it in

Hi when i first was told about this game i was not lookin forward to it coz of the fact that it is with DC but when i got it today i was hooked the fighting is so much better and free fall and close combat makes it more fun to play... also playing as the DC ppl r great as well you kind of forget its batman and superman.. its just like using a mk fighter. also fatalities r still good the only thing is only a little less blood... so this game is worth buying 5/5
