Product Description For generations, stories have been told of the fearsome weapon of the Norse god Thor.
Amazon.co.uk Review The first lady of gaming returns in Tomb Raider - Underworld with her deepest and darkest adventure yet. Ostensibly searching for the mythical hammer of the Norse god Thor, the real draw of the game is exploring the underworlds of multiple different cultures. A pair of panthers make an uncomfortable safety net | When you're a tomb raider, exploring ancient tombs is all in a day’s work | Lara’s pistols are no match for the kraken | The Mediterranean level includes a huge area for swimming | The basics of the game are classic Tomb Raider, as you explore the trap-filled interiors of ancient ruins using Lara’s famed acrobatic skills (and dual action pistols). From an underwater temple guarded by a giant octopus-like kraken to ancient Mayan structures in the South American jungle, she makes Indiana Jones look even older. All of the levels are much larger than in previous games and far more interactive. You'll leave footprints in the sand and find all the scenery fully destructable. Every puzzle has multiple solutions, and the hand-to-hand combat system has been completely revamped. A new 3D map system also helps to ensure you never get lost so that you can concentrate on saving the world. Key Features - Dream vacation: Travel the world in search of ancient artefacts, from the steaming-hot jungles of Mexico to the frozen Arctic, from the coast of Thailand to the depths of the Mediterranean Sea.
- Think like Lara: An interactive, non-linear game world means anything that it looks like you should be able to pick up and use (or destroy) you can.
- Bettering Bond: An all new grappling hook, sonar map, scuba gear, a range of new weapons, and Lara’s trusty motorbike make her the best equipped adventurer in gaming.
- Help on demand: Receive as much or as little help as you want, from gentle nudges in the right direction to a full explanation of what you need to do next.
- Behind the scenes: All of Lara’s animations in the game have been fully motion captured from Olympic gymnast Heidi Moneymaker. Her voice is that of Spooks actress Keeley Hawes.

A great game for new Tomb Raider players. January 1, 2009 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have always found Tomb Raider interesting, and I had a good go at doing Tomb Raider 3 but unfortunately I was about 10 then so I found it very difficult. I just saw this game and bought it on impulse as I thought I would enjoy it. Logging on to the internet before starting I was a little put back by the negative reviews on here - I simply don't understand them playing the game. The game is fun, the graphics are not revolutionary but they are simply fine, the gameplay is fun with the wii stick and generally I haven't found it as hard as the other ones. As stated in the title, it is the perfect Tomb Raider game for beginners who are not looking for a near impossible game that the majority of previous Lara Croft games have been.
Too many bugs December 27, 2008 Unfortunately this game is riddled with bugs,a prime example is in level 2, if you swim into a passageway at the beginning, it means later in the level a pole does not appear, meaning you cannot continue your game. If you have saved after you have swum into the passageway you have to begin again from Croft Manor. On the whole the game is fun too play, however, and if you can get over the frustration of the bugs can be enjoyable
Disapointed but ok December 27, 2008 Having played LR anniversary recently, LR underworld has so far been poor. The graphics are fine but the gameplay is somewhat jagged compared to the flow of movement in previous games. I'm also not really sure why she's got guns anymore as there are very few enemies to kill. The levels seems very short and are filled with constant clips to fill the gaps. Overall not sure it's worth the asking price.
Pleas people!! December 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Tomb Raider Underworld for the Wi is not a bad game. Most reviewers here say 'purchase another console if you want to play this game'. These people are hard core gamers for which the Wii was NEVER designed for and NOT marketed by Nintendo as such.
The Wii IS and WAS marketed by Nintendo for those, like myself, who are casual gamers, so please REVIEW the game and not the console, and if you read the other reviews for the 360 and the PS3, you'll find the game is NO DIFFERENT on thise than the Wii.
A friend of mine has it on the 360 and doens't rate it at all. In the end it comes down to personal taste.
I for one wish Core Design still designed the game and not Cystal Dynamics, as Core actually had designed a version of Anniversary BEFORE CD developed their own.
I do agree though that this game is in no way in a league of what made playing Tomb Raider pleasurable.
tomb raider underworld (wii) December 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the game thinking that it would be just like what you seen on the t.v adverts. the graphics looked amazing and what she did looked ace. But I was pretty let down by it. I paied 30 for it. I got it when it was just out. The game is easy, theres not much levels to it. I completed it in two days. I like the story line for it. But there wasn't even a big fight at the end. It just sort of ended. I thought because it's for wii it would be good. but no. so if your thinking about getting it. wait for the ps2 one to come out if you cant afford a ps3 or xbox. or get the copmputer version. I loooove tomb raider. But this was really a big let down. i've been told the ps3 game is amazing for it.
