fantastic January 5, 2009 This game is fantastic started it on christmas day and couldn't put it down still go back to it now .The puzzles were mixed as some were easy and some a bit taxing but finally got it finished but now daughter and girl friend are hogging it and are totally addicted just like i was .Does anyone know of anymore games just like this one?
WOW! January 5, 2009 Ok so not all of us are hooked to the DS, but this game made me addicted in the nice sense of the word. It is heart breaking at certain points, yet you keep going back to it - determined that it will not beat you! It was amazing! Since I usually stick to the whole brain training thing, it was nice to branch out for a bit and get my teeth into something else!
It is hard to get hold off - but with a little pursuing, I found it in the local Argos - well worth the 29.99 I paid for it and I would recommend it to any, but mainly the over 10's! When's the next game coming out .....?????!!!
I love this game! January 3, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted this game for ages, and I finally got it for christmas (my mum managed to order it from ebay) I couldn't play it much on christmas day, but come boxing day I was well into it. The object of the game is to solve a mystery of the missing golden apple in the 'curious village' but along the way you get asked to solve mini puzzles, I think there is around 130 and most you do not need to solve to get to the end of the game. I do agree that it is not a long enough game, it took me 4 days to complete. However I wouldn't put the damn game down after starting it! I think it is a game worth having, but I wouldn't pay silly money to get it. Its worth waiting till the price comes down again. I am eagerly awaiting for Professor Layton 2 and 3, I hope they are just as good!
Great for Puzzle Lovers January 2, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can say I really enjoyed this game and is one of the only games Ive ever sat and completed, the range of puzzles is brilliant ranging from simple ones to ones that you need to put a little more brain power into. If you love a good puzzle this really is a game for you.
Lots of fun! January 2, 2009 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this game as a Christmas present, and I've really enjoyed it. I've just reached the end of the story, but there are about 19 puzzles that I missed along the way so I have to go back and find them now. I thought the storyline was good - not all mystical and new-agey like some mystery type games and it was easy and intuitive to move around and talk to people. The puzzles were sometimes pretty challenging and while some I got right away, others took a while, and for two puzzles I gave up and got the solution from a walkthrough. It ends with a 'to be continued...' so I'll be looking out for the sequel. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes adventure games or puzzles.
