EA Sports celebrates the 2007 Rugby World Cup with Rugby 08 and features authentic defensive formations, new kicking mechanic, and new truck and zoom camera angles.
Rugby 2008 is a lot different when compared with Rugby 2007 and anything earlier than 2007 that EA has ever made. It’s got more graphics and inlay details. You will like this a lot more than just fantasy rugby. The game gets even more interesting as you get to pick the players and teams. You end up winning the games with teams that never have won a world championship rugby game. In the 2008 Rugby PS2 introduces a pick up and play control system. What this really translates to is, more fun and more control for you. Rugby 2008 falls in the top ten lists; especially in rugby playing countries it is even more famous. The advantage of playing this game on PS2 is not jut limited to the cool graphics and the attention to detail in the picturization but also in the level of logic and control one can feel while playing this game on a PS2. Rugby 2008 is definitely encore game entertainment. I personally have played many rounds on it and would highly recommend it to anyone who is into rugby.
One area of concern for many Playstation 2 fanatics is Rugby 2008 on PS2 does not have an online version associated, where as the PS3 version does. When you are ready to play this game on PS2 it is best to start off in training mode, otherwise called demo mode. This will help you get acquainted with the controls and largely help you with just about everything you need to know about the game. Especially if you are from a non-rugby playing country you will have to get used to in general how the game is played and then co-relate to it to anything similar to another game you are aware of.
If you are an American, then definitely football is something that is similar, but I also hear many people argue that they are not even close. Well, you decide. Coming back to the review and analysis of Rugby 2008 on PS2, the game has a lot more detail and content and even though you may find the bulky looking players on your team seem to not perform well or run harder, over time you will be able to master the game on PS2.
One interesting aspect of this game is it has a basic control and an advanced control. Difference is they both offer different levels of control (basic allows you to kick or pass the ball in one push of a button, where as in an advanced mode, you will have to control both the thrower and the jumper) – well is this something you think is too much exercise to your hands. The way I see it is, more control is always better to manoeuvre the game and keep it going in your favour. Me being a big time Playstation 2 game player, I have always opted to play in the advanced mode, so I can kick the senses out of anyone who is playing against me. I have to give EA huge credit for the graphics, they are far better than any previous version and are the best graphics on the market where Rugby games are concerned.
