Godzilla: Unleashed immerses players into a world where monsters are larger than life and the mother of all giants reigns.

Godzilla: Unleashed is a fighting game recently released on the PS2 by Atari. The game features many different monsters, and it’s your job to prevent them from destroying the whole planet.

If you watched the film, Godzilla, then you will notice that much of the game is based around events found in the film.
As in the film, Godzilla caused mayhem throughout huge cities. But Godzilla: Unleashed has not one monster, but twenty monsters to contend with. Most of the action takes place in massive, busy 3D cityscapes with soaring skyscrapers.

The Playstation 2 version of the game features more monsters than other versions of the game found on other gaming platforms. The game features an innovative non-linear storyline, which allows players to influence how the story unfolds through their choices within battles, and a flexible multiplayer mode which supports up to four player for the ultimate city crushing monster extravaganza.

The graphics are generally well presented, the 3D environments could be better, but the massive monsters look visually great and the animations are superb. One huge disappointment with Godzilla: Unleashed is that the planned online mode was removed, but you can still play with four of yours mates in multiplayer mode which is good fun.

Audio found throughout the game is average, monsters have some great sound effects, but voice acting and background metal can become annoying.

If you like Godzilla, your sure to like Godzilla: Unleashed.
