Official Fact Sheet:

In order to take Kaido Racer to the next level, it had to get tougher and more realistic. And because your rewards are every bit to do with bragging rights as they are about the bank balance, there needed to be more cars with sexier upgrades. Well, it’s all here in Kaido Racer 2, the latest in the ultimate street racing series from Konami.

Japan’s mountain roads have never looked more inviting; revving the engine before exploding into the distance in your Honda, Mazda or Audi special never more thrilling. In Kaido Racer 2, you can seat yourself behind the wheel of over 189 cars from 20 manufacturers. For the first time these also include rugged off-road vehicles in addition to the slick street cars.

Every car is massively customisable right down to the body shape, exhaust types, lights and paintjobs. Under the hood, adjustments can be made to the pistons, cam shafts, and cranks to boost acceleration and power. The result is a garage of highly personalised motors that you’ll know intimately, giving you pride and confidence to tackle routes that have been memorised as though your life depends on it. And maybe it will.

A selection of the most (in)famous mountain roads from mainland Japan are yours to race, plus for the first time the idyllic northern island of Hokkaido with its many off-road trails. Every twist and turn, every bump in the road has been authentically recreated thanks to the use of laser technology providing unrivalled topographical detail.

  • Drive 189 hot motors from 20 of the world’s finest manufacturers
  • 19 gruelling courses set within authentic mountain passes
  • Erratic weather conditions increase the driving difficulty
  • Vehicles can be customised from engine, body and paintwork
  • A wealth of tournament modes increases the competition
